USMS Boston Education Weekend
May 3 & 4, 2025

Hosts: USMS Coach Development and New England LMSC

Registration Fee Subsidies: 80% discount for NELMSC members. Others, contact your LMSC.

Lunch: Provided on Saturday to those attendees taking both the L2 and L3 coach certification courses and on Sunday to those attending the ALTS instructor certification course.


SATURDAY, MAY 3, 2025

  • Level 3 Coach Certification Course ($35 NELMSC, $175 others)

    • Registration cap: 40 students

    • Check-in 11:45am, class 12:15 to 4:00pm

    • Prerequisites: Level 1 & 2 coach certification courses (L2 & L3 can be taken same day)

  • “How-to” Clinic Course for Coaches Part 1 – classroom ($10 NELMSC, $50 others)

    • Registration cap: 16 students

    • Check-in 4:00pm, class 4:15 to 6:15pm

    • Must attend Part 2 pool deck section of this course on Sunday (see below)

    • Prerequisite: USMS coach or ALTS instructor certification (L2, L3, CCC can be taken same day)

  • Saturday Instructors:

    • Mel Goldstein, USMS Past President & International Masters Swimming Hall of Fame Inductee

 SUNDAY, MAY 4, 2025

  • “How-To” Clinic Course for Coaches Part 2 – pool deck

    • Must attend Part 1 classroom section of this course on Saturday (see above)

    • Check-in 7:30am, pool deck 8:00am to 12:30pm

    • Prerequisite: USMS coach or ALTS instructor certification (L2 and/or L3 can be taken Saturday)

    • Instructors: Bill Brenner & Mel Goldstein

  • Swimmer Stroke Development Clinic ($12 NELMSC, others $60)

    • Registration cap: 48 students

    • Check-in 7:30am. In the pool 8:00am to 12:30pm.

    • Instructors: Bill Brenner & Mel Goldstein (with CCC lane coaches on deck)

  • Adult Learn to Swim Instructor Certification ($50 NELMSC, $250 others)

    • Registration cap: 30 students

    • Check-In 8:00am, classroom section 8:30am to 1:30pm **lunch provided**

    • Pool section 2:00 to 3:30pm (need the shallow end of 4 consecutive lanes including 1 outside lane)
